Maintaining medical device reliability is critical for patient safety and clinical continuity. The Biomedical Machine Registry (machine.php, machine_maintenance.php) tracks calibration, warranties, maintenance logs, and breakdown downtime.

2. Equipment Profile & Calibration Tracking

For every physical device in the hospital, the asset master maintains:

Serial Number & Model / Make: Brand, vendor supplier, and installation date.
Department Allocation: (e.g. OT-1, ICU-Bed 4, Radiology Room 2).
Periodic Calibration Schedule: Next calibration due date with statutory compliance reminders.
AMC / Warranty Contract: Vendor contract details, service engineer contacts, and contract expiry alarms.

3. Logging Maintenance & Breakdown Downtime

When a medical machine experiences a fault:

Navigate to Machines > Machine Log / Maintenance.
Select the machine and click Log Maintenance / Issue.
Record issue description, downtime start time, technician assigned, and replacement parts used.
Once repaired and recalibrated, close the log to record total downtime and update the equipment maintenance history.
